Have you ever found yourself worrying about tomorrow?
Wondering how things will work out?
Wondering if you will have enough strength, enough resources, enough courage, or enough faith for what is ahead?
In Exodus 16, we see a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness through the story of the Israelites in the wilderness.
After God delivered them from Egypt, the Israelites found themselves in a place where they had no idea what tomorrow would bring. They were hungry, uncertain, and facing a season they did not understand.
But God provided.
He sent manna from heaven — bread from heaven — to nourish and sustain them. Every morning, they woke up and found exactly what they needed for that day.
But there was a lesson hidden in the manna.
God instructed them to gather only enough for one day at a time. If they tried to store extra for the next day, it would spoil.
Why?
Because God was teaching them to trust Him.
He wasn’t just providing food. He was building faith.
He was reminding them that their security was not found in what they could store up, control, or predict. Their security was found in Him.
The only exception was before the Sabbath. On the sixth day, they were to gather enough for two days because they were not to work on the Sabbath. Even in that, God showed them that He was already preparing what they needed.
God’s provision was intentional.
The Israelites had to wake up each day and believe:
“God will take care of me today.”
And that same truth still applies to us.
Sometimes we want God to reveal the entire path. We want to know every detail of our future before we take the next step.
But God often works through daily dependence.
He gives us strength for today.
Grace for today.
Wisdom for today.
Peace for today.
Matthew 6:34 reminds us:
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Living one day at a time does not mean we stop dreaming, planning, or preparing. It means we stop carrying tomorrow’s burdens with today’s strength.
God already knows what tomorrow holds.
The same God who provided manna in the wilderness is still faithful today.
When you feel uncertain, remember:
You don’t have to have tomorrow figured out.
You just have to trust the One who already does.
Today’s manna is enough.
Speak life over your heart:
“God is my provider. He is faithful. He will give me what I need for each step ahead.”
Keep showing up.
Keep trusting.
Keep rising.
Because God is good — and He takes care of His children one day at a time.
Speak Life. Rise Higher.
