Why I Created VoiceRise

I have had a few people ask me what inspired me to create VoiceRise.

The answer is simple—it was my own personal journey.

It's interesting that some of my closest friends and family have been surprised to hear about some of the struggles I've faced. Looking back, I think I just put on a smile and did the best I could. But beneath that smile were seasons of insecurity, fear, and self-doubt.

There were times when my own choices left me feeling unworthy. I struggled with people-pleasing, striving to be "good enough," and believing I was somehow behind everyone else. Those thoughts left me feeling stuck, discouraged, and at times depressed.

Then one day, I was spending time with my granddaughter as she was learning something new. She became frustrated and started saying things about herself that reminded me of a younger version of me.

Not long after that, I was talking with my younger sister, who was struggling to discover her purpose and feeling behind where she thought she should be.

As I listened to two of the people I love most, I realized something. The struggles I had quietly carried for so many years weren't unique to me. We all wrestle with the same doubts, fears, and feelings of inadequacy.

That's when God began stirring something in my heart.

What if He could use my testimony—both the victories and the struggles—to encourage other women? What if the lessons He has been teaching me could help someone else find hope, confidence, and purpose a little sooner?

That became the beginning of VoiceRise.

We will never "arrive" at perfection this side of heaven, but we can continue growing day by day into the women God created us to be. For me, the greatest transformation has come through developing a deeper relationship with the Lord. The closer I draw to Him, the more I understand who I am—and whose I am.

When we truly grasp that God created each of us uniquely, something changes. We realize we aren't competing with one another because no one else has our God-given assignment. We each have a purpose that only we can fulfill.

My prayer is to build a community where women discover the confidence that comes from knowing who they are in Christ—not because of what they've accomplished, but because of Whose they are.

I am simply the vessel, sharing the message that you are deeply loved, beautifully created, your story matters, your voice matters, and your life has purpose.
